Lung cancer is the leading cause of caner related death in the WORLD! Thankfully, decreased rates of smoking have decreased lung cancer cases however lung cancer still kills more than breast, colon and prostate combined.

Despite a lack of funding, lung cancer research has led the way in terms of precision medicine and immunotherapy. Precision medicine describes the use of targeted therapies that specifically target the genetic mutations that are responsible for creating the cancer. Immunotherapy describes the use of antibodies to disinhibit the anti-tumor immune response to allow the patient’s own immune system to destroy the tumor.
